Among the advances offered by the new TeSys contactors from Telemecanique are wide-range low-consumption DC coil options, exceptionally compact construction, and spring-clamp terminals

The pace-setting new TeSys contactors from Telemecanique, a brand of Schneider Electric, incorporate a host of technological innovations which translate directly into technical and financial benefits for users.

Among the advances offered by TeSys products are wide-range low-consumption DC coil options, exceptionally compact construction, and the availability of versions with ultra-reliable spring-clamp terminals.

TeSys model D contactors with wide-range low-consumption DC coils are, uniquely, available with AC3 ratings up to 38A, and are ideal for operation from programmable controllers.

They allow the use of economical high-density PLC output modules, and also eliminate the need for costly and space-consuming interface relays.

Wide-range operation eliminates concerns over voltage drops in wiring and external devices, and low coil consumption means reduced heat generation within the control enclosure.

The compact construction of TeSys products not only enables more compact control panels, but also allows smaller, less expensive enclosures to be used.

TeSys model D contactors rated at up to 15kW are just 45mm wide, including two internal auxiliary contacts, making them the smallest products of their type currently available, while retaining the performance and reliability of Telemecanique's existing D range.

The spring-clamp terminal versions of TeSys model D contactors reduce wiring times by up to 40% compared with conventional screw-terminal devices, and they are unaffected by normal levels of shock and vibration.

In addition, spring clamps can never be incorrectly tightened, and they automatically compensate for relaxation in the copper conductors after wiring, ensuring maximum connection reliability.

TeSys spring-clamp devices can be used in standard panel construction, or with the full QUICKFIT motor starting system which virtually eliminates both power and control wiring.
