Providing the benefits of soft starting and stopping in new and existing equipment is now easier than ever, with the introduction of the new, and very competitively priced, LH7 range of enclosed soft starters from Telemecanique, a brand of Schneider Electric In addition to the soft start module itself, the new units are supplied ready-fitted with isolation, switching and motor protection devices

No additional components are, therefore, needed, and installation involves no more than mounting the unit in a convenient location, then connecting it to the supply and to the motor.

The LH7 range comprises two complementary models, both of which are available in ratings up to 22A, which is equivalent to 11kW at 415V.

Ideal for use in demanding environmental conditions, LH7K soft starters feature plastic enclosures with an IP65 protection rating.

They are fitted with Telemecanique's well proven GV2M motor circuit breakers to provide galvanic isolation and switching, as well as short-circuit and motor protection.

LH7K soft starters are available in ratings up to 22A, which is equivalent to 11kW at 415V.

As a manual motor starter, they are ideal for use in applications where no-volt release is not required.

An under-voltage trip is available as an accessory.

LH70M starters are suitable for all standard industrial and commercial applications.

They have IP54 sheet-steel enclosures with hinged doors, and are fitted with through-the-door operated GV2-P motor circuit breakers which provide isolation and disconnection facilities, as well as short-circuit and motor protection.

The LH70M also has door-mounted start, stop and soft-stop pushbuttons, and is fitted with a suitably rated contactor providing no-volt release.

Both models are easy to set up, and both provide full control over both motor starting and stopping.

The units are an ideal alternative to direct-on-line starters in a wide range of applications, and provide benefits which include reduced wear and tear on mechanical components, the elimination of water hammer in pumping applications, prevention of damage to material on conveyor systems, and reduced demands on the electrical supply system.
