Safety switches highly tolerant to
misalignment
The new XCS-DM range of contactless coded magnetic safety switches from Telemecanique is ideal for ensuring that dangerous moving machinery is stopped as soon as the guard is opened
Small, easy to install, and highly tolerant to misalignment, the new XCS-DM range of contactless coded magnetic safety switches from Telemecanique is ideal for ensuring that dangerous moving machinery is stopped as soon as the guard is opened Well suited to applications in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical and packaging industries, the new switches have an IP67 protection rating, which means that they can operate reliably even in demanding environments and can, if necessary, be cleaned by hosing down

XCS-DM magnetic safety switches are available in three versions.
The XCS-DMP is a standard-sized rectangular switch which has three contacts, while the XCS-DMC is a miniature rectangular switch - the smallest currently available - which has two contacts.
The third switch in the range, the XCS-DMR, is cylindrical, and has two contacts.
All products in the range can be supplied pre-cabled with 2-, 5- or 10-metre cables, and are available with or without LED indication of guard open status.
All types feature internal fuse protection, and all are suitable for category 4 control systems when used in conjunction with Telemecanique Preventa safety relays.
Maximum actuating distance between the switch and the magnet is 20mm for the standard and cylindrical models, and 15mm for the miniature switch.
To allow maximum flexibility in installation, the rectangular switches can be used in three orientations - face-to-face, side-to-side and face-to-side.
This feature, which greatly increases the versatility of the switches, is unique to the Telemecanique XCS-DM range.
All XCS-DM switches use coded reed technology, which provides effective protection against tampering, as actuation with a simple magnet is impossible.
