Featuring compact construction, and supplied with a convenient graphics-based programming terminal, Telemecanique's new Altivar 68 drives are available with power ratings from 75kW to 500kW

Versatility, robustness and ease-of-use are the outstanding characteristics of the new high-power Altivar 68 variable speed drives from Telemecanique Featuring compact construction, and supplied with a convenient graphics-based programming terminal, the new drives are available with power ratings from 75kW to 500kW for high-torque applications, or from 90kW to 630kW for standard applications

Telemecanique is offering the new drives in sensorless flux vector versions, for applications such as pumps, fans, centrifuges and grinders, and in full flux vector versions for applications such as hoists and materials handling where high torque is needed at zero speed.

All versions are suitable for operation from supplies in the range 340V to 550V without adjustment or modification, making them ideally suited for use by manufacturers of equipment for export.

Setting up the drives is made easy by built-in pre-programmed macros, and by the ergonomically designed programming module which can be mounted either on the drive, or at other locations to provide remote display and access facilities.

A comprehensive PC-based programming package is also available as an optional extra.

All Altivar 68 drives feature integrated PID controllers, and offer pre-programmed brake release control, as well as facilities for automatically catching spinning loads.

To facilitate their use in complex multi-motor applications, the drives support two independent parameter sets, both with auto-tuning and, for optimum motor protection, direct thermistor inputs are provided.

To assist in the reduction of supply harmonics, the units can be supplied in 12-pulse versions, and provision is also made for the fitting of line reactors.

Option boards are available to provide additional inputs and outputs for control and monitoring, as are communication cards for the FIPIO and Modbus protocols, and cards for the connection of encoder feedback signals.

Up to two option boards may be fitted to each drive, providing exceptional versatility.
