In a move that underpins ambitious growth plans, Schneider Electric is reorganising its UK operations so they are more closely aligned with the organisation's rapidly evolving customer base.

In a move that underpins ambitious growth plans, Schneider Electric is reorganising its operations in the UK so that they are more closely aligned with the organisation's rapidly evolving customer base The move marks a new phase in Schneider Electric's ongoing programme of investment in customer support and services, and is a proactive response to the increasing scope and diversity of market opportunities

The changes are a positive step not only for the company itself, but also for Schneider Electric's extensive network of distributors.

As one of Schneider Electric's most important partners, the distributors will be given every opportunity and encouragement to participate in growth and business development actions, and to share in their benefits.

Schneider Electric's new structure is now divided into four customer-focused entities: Building Systems and Solutions, Industrial Systems and Solutions, Infrastructures Systems and Solutions, and Projects and Services.

Each entity is headed by a UK board director, providing a fast and effective channel for customer feedback to reach the highest levels of the organisation.

The new entities each offer in-depth specialist expertise in the relevant sector, and will concentrate on developing innovative and cost-effective solutions for its specific customer group.

These solutions will draw on products and services from all of Schneider Electric's high-profile brands, which include Merlin Gerin, Modicon, Sarel, Square D and Telemecanique.

A further exciting development is the integration of the Schneider Electric Projects and Services activities.

Working with Schneider Electric's extensive network of business partners, the Projects and Services team will assist in the provision of complete project packages, as well as offering an extensive range of innovative value-added services for customers.

The team's efforts will be carefully tailored to provide extra value for Schneider Electric's customers, and to complement, rather than displace, the activities of panel builders, system integrators and other Schneider Electric business partners.

"It's no accident that our new entities include the words "systems" and "solutions" in their titles", said David Camm, Schneider Electric's marketing communications manager, "as we believe the major opportunities for future growth are in providing complete and innovative solutions, rather than simply products, excellent though those products may be".

"We are constantly working to get closer to our customers, and to make their lives easier", continued Camm.

"Everyone today is working under pressure, and our simple objective is to take some of that pressure off those who buy from Schneider Electric by employing our expertise and resources to solve their problems".

Key objectives identified for Schneider Electric's new structure are to provide a customer-oriented organisation which is easy to do business with, and to deliver excellence in service and support to ensure complete satisfaction for both new and existing customers.

"Our new structure is the perfect complement for our advanced technology initiatives", said Camm.

"The 'Transparent' initiative, for example, lets users of our products communicate with their electrical and automation systems via the Internet.

This means that they can be in complete control of their installations from virtually anywhere in the world.

Now that our organisation is also structured to match closely key customer requirements, it means that it is easier than ever for everyone to benefit from such revolutionary technological developments".
