Advantys STB is a new solution from Telemecanique claimed to answer all distributed I/O needs.

Advantys STB is a new solution from Telemecanique claimed to answer all distributed I/O needs Advantys STB is an open system offering greater flexibility in device integration

It provides removable field-wiring connectors to allow prewiring of I/O for faster installation and maintenance, and a unique power distribution system that enhances safety, facilitates troubleshooting, and permits flexible module locations for easier system expansion.

For critical applications, Advantys STB offers hot swapping, which means that components can be changed without the need to shut down the system.

As the installation stays online, productivity losses are minimised.

Facilities for local reflex control at I/O level are also provided for applications where control must be as close to the operation as possible, or where limited control must be maintained in the event of a fieldbus failure.

Designed with the needs of both end users and machine builders in mind, Advantys STB is a flexible solution which, by reducing wiring, and eliminating the need for complex programming, delivers big cost and time savings.

Advantys STB allows straightforward integration of many different devices.

It can easily be connected to Telemecanique products, such as Magelis HMI systems, Altivar variable speed drives, and Advantys FTB and FTM IP67 I/O units.

In addition, by providing CANopen capabilities in an island bus, Advantys STB also offers integration with third-party products, including pneumatics, hydraulics, encoders, decoders, barcode readers, sensors, drives and actuators.

An exceptionally modular system, Advantys STB is the ideal solution for systems that need a high degree of granularity and flexibility.

I/O can be mixed and matched down to as few as two, four or six points of control.

This allows space usage to be optimised, and ensures that users never have to spend money unnecessarily on unwanted I/O capacity in multichannel modules.

In addition, the extensive assortment of I/O modules in the range satisfies virtually every application, while the wide selection of network interface modules means that Advantys STB can easily be connected to all popular fieldbus systems, including Ethernet.

Advantys STB islands are the smart solution for distributed I/O.

They can be configured automatically or, for more specialised applications, users can take full control with an easy-to-use Windows-based software package.

This offers, among other features, extended configuration options, powerful online diagnostics, and the ability to program the reflex functions that provide local control at the island I/O level.

Advantys STB is Transparent Ready, which means that it is part of the Telemecanique philosophy of offering products that are open and easy to integrate into a wide variety of environments.

Transparent Ready products use standard, commercially available technologies, like Ethernet TCP/IP, Modbus and CANopen, so that they provide connectivity with a wide range of products from Telemecanique and third parties.

With Advantys STB, manufacturers are liberated from concerns over component compatibility and interoperability, and are given the freedom to design systems based on what is required, rather than merely on what is possible.
