A range of functions on the Telemecanique Zelio Logic programmable relays makes them highly suitable for building automation tasks.

Real-time clock facilities that adjust automatically for daylight saving time, a choice of ladder-diagram or function-block programming, and the availability of models which can be easily expanded make the new generation of Zelio Logic programmable relays from the Telemecanique brand of Schneider Electric an ideal choice for building automation applications.

Combining versatility with ease of use, small size and outstanding value for money, these innovative second-generation programmable relays are changing the rules for designers of building automation systems by providing them with a dependable, future-proof and affordable alternative to control systems based on conventional relays.

Modular versions of the new Zelio Logic programmable relays are available with 10 or 26 I/O, and can be easily extended by adding a 6, 10 or 14 I/O expansion module.

A Modbus communication module can also be added, to allow straightforward networking.

Modular versions offer a wide range of built-in functions, including real-time clocks, analogue comparators, timers and counters, which make it easy to program the units for use in even the most demanding applications.

The compact monoblock versions in the new Zelio Logic range are offered with 10, 12 or 20 I/O.

They share most of the advanced features of the modular versions, but have a fixed, non-expandable I/O configuration.

All programmable relays in the Zelio Logic range feature large program memory, and all are available with integral function keys and easy-to-read backlit liquid crystal displays.

Ladder diagram programming can be carried out using only the keys and the display, making the units completely self-contained.

Monoblock models can also be supplied in low-cost blind versions, without displays and function keys, which are ideal for applications where there is unlikely to be a need for on-site programming.

To complement the latest Zelio Logic relays, a new Windows-based programming software package for use on PCs has been introduced.

Compatible with all models in the range, this provides maximum flexibility and easy generation of documentation, as well as allowing the programs to be comprehensively tested before they are loaded into the Zelio Logic relay.

Available as an accessory for the new Zelio Logic programmable relay range is the innovative Zelio Logic communication interface.

Used in conjunction with a modem, this allows remote supervision and monitoring of the control system, and can even send alarm messages to a mobile phone.

In building automation applications, these communication facilities are an invaluable aid to remote detection and diagnosis of problems, and they can often eliminate the need for a costly and inconvenient site visit.
