Drives shrink to accommodate more
features
Variable speed drives in the new Altivar 31 range from Telemecanique are, on average, 24% smaller than their predecessors.
Variable speed drives in the new Altivar 31 range from Telemecanique dramatically reduce the cost of ownership by offering two key benefits: they are, on average, 24% smaller than their predecessors, which means that they provide big savings on costly panel space; and they incorporate communication facilities for CANopen and Modbus, making them easy and inexpensive to integrate with modern fieldbus-based automation systems Adaptability to provide cost-effective solutions is another key characteristic of Altivar 31 drives, which are offered in two versions

Servomotor system suits a range of machinery
The Lexium motion controller is sufficiently powerful to require no other PLCs for many applications.
Customisable models, which are available in single-phase versions rated at up to 3kW, and in three-phase versions rated at up to 5kW, comprise a drive mounted in a fully customisable IP55 enclosure.
Ample space is available for users to add, for example, switch disconnectors, circuit breakers, switches, and pilot lights.
These units are an ideal choice for those who need the convenience of an enclosed drive, combined with the ability to customise it to meet their specific requirements.

Enclosures come ready to install
Pragma enclosures are available in 13 and 24-module wide versions, with provision for mounting up to four rows of devices.
For OEMs and others who wish to build the drive into their own equipment, Altivar 31 drives are also available in kit form, comprising the drive chassis and a separate external heatsink.
To ensure maximum flexibility in installing the drive, the heatsink can be mounted either directly on the chassis, or outside the enclosure.
Single-phase Altivar 31 drive kits are available with ratings up to 3kW, while three-phase kits can be supplied with ratings up to 20kW.
Altivar 31 drives, with the exception of special-voltage versions, incorporate, as standard, Class A EMC filters, and feature "plug-and-drive" technology, combined with auto-tuning to ensure easy setup and fully optimised operation.
In addition to the basic configuration level of the drives, the Altivar 31 range allows an enhanced configuration which adds brake logic, plus/minus speed control, logic inputs with variable assignments, and a PI regulation function.
A further configuration level provides all of these facilities, and also allows the user to assign drive control functions to different communication channels.
Altivar 31 drives are designed to satisfy the needs of the global markets, and are offered in versions which are optimised to suit the needs of the European and American markets.
Manufacturers of equipment for export can, therefore, be sure of finding, in the Altivar 31, a product which meets their requirements effectively and economically.
