The new Osiview vision system continues the Telemecanique Global Detection range objective of providing users with sensing solutions that offer simplicity through innovation.

The new Osiview vision system continues the Telemecanique Global Detection range objective of providing users with sensing solutions that offer simplicity through innovation Ease of setting up, via a user-friendly software system, is a key characteristic of Osiview products, as is their extremely compact construction

Without lenses, cameras measure just 50 x 31 x 29mm, making them easy to accommodate in new designs, even where space is limited, as well as in retrofit applications where no space has been allowed for a camera.

To provide maximum versatility, vision controllers in the Osiview range are offered in a choice of three models.

The economical XUV M110 accommodates a single camera channel, and provides a choice of seven monitoring modes, including line, binary window, and feature extraction.

It also offers automatic triggering and position adjustment.

The XUV M210 can be simultaneously connected to two cameras and, in addition to all of the facilities of the XUV M110, it adds rotation adjustment and smart matching.

The third controller in the Osiview range, the XUV M230, also supports two cameras, but its feature set is optimised for character recognition and verification.

All of the vision controllers are suitable for stand-alone operation, or for connection to a PC.

When used as stand-alone devices, parameter definition is carried out using a plug-in keypad and the unit's integral menu system.

Connection to a PC and/or a PLC is easily achieved via two RS232 ports.

Ideal for use in modern manufacturing applications, where minimising defects is essential to achieving profitability, Osiview vision systems allow the capture of critical product data, such as determining whether components are correctly positioned, or whether labels and date stamps have been correctly applied.

The data can be used to initiate immediate corrective action, or can be stored for later downloading and analysis.

In addition to vision controllers, the Osiview range also includes lighting accessories for front- and back-lighting, a monitor suitable for displaying images captured by the system, cameras in versions to suit stationary or moving targets, and lenses with focal lengths from 8.5 to 50mm.
