Medium voltage motor starters have largely been neglected as far as the application of new technology is concerned.
Motorpact represents the latest advancements in technology and incorporates the latest Merlin Gerin Sepam electronic protection relays, state of the art low power current transducers (LPCT) and Schneider Electric's Transparent Ready web browser technology for communications, monitoring and control.
Unlike similar motor starters, Motorpact comes as a preconfigured unit rather than a custom built panel.
This reduces costs, but also makes both specification and installation simpler and quicker.
Indeed, using a line disconnector and multifunctional cast parts has reduced the number of components and also helped reduce heat losses.
The footprint is the smallest of any motor starter with cabinet dimensions of just 375mm width, 950mm depth and a height of 2300mm.
The versatile Motorpact handles motors up to 4000kW at 7.2kV, but is also perfect for protecting a broad range of installations and can also be configured for transformer feeders.
Maintenance requirements have been considered and all maintainable components are accessible without de-energising the switchboard.
The vacuum contactor and disconnector are maintenance free.
