A Schneider Electric product story

Telford MP declares Schneider Electric's UK logistics hub a great "local success story".

Telford Labour MP, David Wright, recently visited the UK logistics hub of global electrical leader Schneider Electric in Telford where he not only witnessed some innovative new energy saving solutions and brand new interconnection technology, but also was able to declare the company a great "local success story".

Schneider Electric has the corporate boast of delivering a "new electric world", but in Telford the operations revolve around getting the company's famous brand electrical products into the UK market.

Britain relies heavily on Schneider Electric without even knowing it.

More than 80% of the National Grid's electrical distribution equipment comes from Schneider Electric's Merlin Gerin brand, and homes, offices, schools, colleges and hospitals among many others depend on electrical accessories from Schneider Electric's Square D and Clipsal brands.

In manufacturing, a lifeblood still of the UK economy, advanced automation technologies use equipment branded Telemecanique, also from Schneider Electric.

"Schneider Electric takes its local responsibilities very seriously", explained Richard Walley, Marketing Manager for Schneider Electric's Building Systems and Solutions.

He added: "We provide a wealth of career opportunities in Telford from junior to very senior roles".

"We also work closely with local colleges as part of our commitment to training and education".

Wright was suitably impressed by his visit, not only in the employment opportunities that Schneider Electric provides locally, but also by the company's commitment to both the community and the global environment.

Schneider Electric sites around the UK, not just in Telford, have undertaken a major energy saving regime that is cutting harmful greenhouse gas emissions and helping the UK Government in its quest to meet or exceed the targets within the Kyoto Earth Summit's agreement.
