Theorem Solutions has signed an agreement with PTC to offer interoperability solutions built on PTC's Granite One to both PTC users and users of other CAD systems Granite One is an interoperability platform based on the unmatched geometry, feature and data exchange capabilities at the core of Pro/Engineer, PTC's market leading mechanical computer-aided design software

Theorem has developed an unrivalled suite of data exchange products and services covering all major CAD vendors and, for more than two years, has offered Pro/Engineer translations via its online cadverter.com translation service.

During 2002, Theorem plans to introduce a number of exciting developments for the PTC community.

The first of these - a new Pro/Engineer Cadverter, made possible through the use of PTC's Granite interoperability kernel, will offer bidirectional translators between Pro/Engineer and Unigraphics, Catia and I-DEAS.

By developing CADverter on Granite, Theorem has made sharing information between Pro/Engineer and several of the world's most widely used CAD applications an easier process for PTC users.

"PTC recognises the requirement of engineers working with more than one CAD system for quality data translations", said Brian Shepherd, senior vice president, MCAD Solutions and Technical Marketing, PTC.

"Theorem's translator will allow users to extend the reach of Granite interoperability and, through the rapid exchange of information, increase productivity and reduce the costs associated with incompatible applications".

"By using Granite, we will bring our new Pro/Engineer range of CADverters to market in record time", comments Stuart Thurlby, managing director of Theorem Solutions.

"PTC shares our commitment to provide customers with the best design tools available to create successful products and we are excited to work with them to help drive the product development process for our customers.

Our Granite-based translators will enable us to fulfil our customers' expectations for interoperability with Pro/Engineer data in the future".
