Software eases data management
CADverters for IsoDraw provide a highly cost-effective and easy to use method of dealing with Catia and UG NX data.
Translators boost operating speed
Theorem's new series of CADverters will typically translate data to and from PTC's Pro/E format three times faster than before.
The purpose of this new initiative is to maximise the business benefits of reduced development time and costs for major manufacturers and their supply chains.
Over the years, CAD systems have developed from isolated departmental installations, through networked systems into integrated business solutions.
During this development, the benefits of product visualisation throughout a business have become increasingly apparent.
It has also become clear that there are significant benefits to be gained in collaboration during product design and manufacturing for the supply chain.
In the past, attempts to reap these benefits have been inhibited by large CAD models which would either slow down communication, or completely overwhelm the hardware on which people were attempting to view the data.
JT Open proposes the use of the JT format as the means of realising the benefits of collaboration.
JT is a robust and lightweight representation of 3D CAD models specifically conceived for visualisation of very large assemblies and mock-ups.
It will play an important role in the evolution and implementation of PLM.
Comments Theorem's General Manager Keith Jeacock: "As one of the world's leaders in CAD product data exchange, Theorem Solutions is supporting the JT Open initiative by making available JT translators for all the leading CAD systems, including Catia V5, Catia V4, Cadds, Inventor and more.
Theorem's JT translators are already installed in many of the world's leading design and manufacturing companies including Boeing, BMW, Renault, Astrium, Ford and Land Rover, as well as many of their Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers".
Theorem's JT translators provide powerful options enabling the user to translate whole assemblies or single components.
The translators can be integrated with design, viewing, vaulting and data management solutions, all of which are being brought closer and closer together in today's PLM environments through initiatives such as JT Open.
