Theorem Solutions has joined the Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC), a collaborative group comprising more than 1000 UK aerospace-related companies Theorem's advanced data exchange translators support one of the principal aims of the group by enabling the seamless exchange of CAD data between different design and Product Lifecycle Management systems

Farnborough Aerospace Consortium highlights the sharing of best practice, improved marketing, collective action and access to current research as key factors in enabling members to improve their competitiveness.

In particular, the FAC promotes collaborative working between SMEs and the formation of agile partnerships that can meet the demands of today's fast-moving aerospace market.

The sector is characterised by challenging lead times, complex designs and an increasing dependence on CAD systems.

Equally, as OEMs progressively move towards fully digital mockups, the ability to provide CAD data in the correct format can prove crucial to winning or losing contracts.

Furthermore, the use of numerous different systems within the industry means supply chain companies can face the daunting task of providing their design data in several disparate formats.

Keith Jeacock, General Manager of Theorem Solutions believes his company's expertise in the field of data exchange offers FAC members a welcome solution to their problem.

"Our products and services are aimed directly at resolving CAD data exchange problems and therefore, promoting collaborative engineering", he explains.

"Aerospace OEMs and their supply chain partners already represent a significant proportion of Theorem's user base".

"By joining the FAC, we not only expect to benefit from shared experiences within the group, but to respond more effectively to the needs of the UK aerospace community".

"It also opens the way for our advanced technology to be made available to fellow members at very attractive rates", he adds.
