Conversion software is number-one formula
For AP Racing and its 21 CAD engineers, Theorem's Catia/SolidWorks bidirectional CADverter provides the ideal solution to translating data between dissimilar CAD systems.
New life for old Cadds data
Designers can make new use of legacy Cadds data using a novel Cadds to Catia 5 Cadverter.
Licences in use include direct and standards based CAD to CAD translators, such as Cadds5 to and from Catia, as well as Cadds to and from Step AP203 and AP 214.
Furthermore, Theorem has recently supplied a series of Catia to ProductView translators to enable Airbus to fulfil its CAD to visualisation requirements.
The Theorem products are all integrated within the Airbus Windchill PLM infrastructure, enabling them to deliver benefits to engineers and administrators across the company's wide range of engineering disciplines.
In addition, the sheer scale of the project has meant that numerous Theorem translators have been deployed across further CAD and associated systems within the Airbus supply-chain.
Key partners such as Rolls-Royce, for example, which supplies engines for the new "Super Jumbo", is just one organisation to have recently increased the number of Theorem translators employed to bridge the various design applications used by its product development teams and other collaborative partners.
"Their selection for high profile projects such as the A380, whose success is based on engineering excellence and world-wide collaboration, establishes CADverters as the de facto standards for data exchange within the aerospace, automotive and other global reach industries", says Theorem's General Manager Keith Jeacock.
"In parallel, the use of our products to transfer CAD data between the systems deployed within Airbus and its supply-chain has not only made a major contribution to the A380's success to date, but will also play a significant role throughout the lifecycle management of this innovative aircraft for many years to come".
