Paper to highlight importance of meta
data in PLM
John Wedrychowski of Theorem Solutions will present a paper highlighting the importance of meta data and its relevance to product lifecycle management at Solid Modelling 2005.
A presentation highlighting the importance of meta data and its relevance to product lifecycle management will be delivered by John Wedrychowski, Reseller Manager for Theorem Solutions, as part of a seminar programme running within the Solid Modelling 2005 exhibition at the NEC on 27th and 28th April Entitled "Meta data and the future of product data exchange", the presentation focuses on some new aspects of meta data and answers questions such as: "What is meta data anyway and why might it be useful?" as well as "Can data translation vendors deliver additional benefit by including meta data within their products' capabilities?"

Wedrychowski's session will be one of a series of seminars conducted by recognised authorities on PLM.
The programme follows a successful format adopted at last year's Solid Modelling event, which EDA Director of Exhibitions Geoff Walker describes as: "a quick fire walk-on, walk-off platform for airing technical and important product papers".
With just 30 minutes for speakers to both deliver their presentation and cover questions, this description is certainly justified.
The seminars are not intended to be platforms for product promotion, so Wedrychowski's paper will concentrate on the generic product data exchange issues facing today's businesses as they look to benefit from closer collaboration with their customers and suppliers.
Following the presentation, Theorem personnel will be on hand to answer questions that cannot be answered in detail within the timing of the seminar programme.
As the UK's premier design technology event, Solid Modelling has become an annual landmark for CAD/CAM/CAE and IT strategists within major manufacturers, as well as at director and senior manager level across thousands of SMEs.
According to Geoff Walker: "The seminar programme is just one important aspect of SM2005".
"There are more industry leading exhibitors than ever this year and we are also launching Prototype 2005, a dedicated forum for prototyping and direct manufacturing".
"Everything is designed to provide attendees with maximum value from their visit".
