Pneumatic valve actuators deliver maximum torque
The extended G Series pneumatic actuator range now has 15 double acting and 15 spring return models and covers the Tomoe valve range from DN40 to DN600.
Tomoe Valve has announced a major extension to its G Series pneumatic actuator range.
This launch further enhances the already extensive range of Tomoe butterfly valves, and the G Series compliments the inherent control valve characteristics of the range.
The extended G Series range now has 15 double acting and 15 spring return models and covers the Tomoe valve range from DN40 to DN600.
Full traceability is available with each actuator, and a wide range of options are available including a stainless steel bodied actuator as well as a full range of other protective coatings.
The G Series range of pneumatic actuators incorporates the unique Scotch Yoke design, using a 5 degree offset.
This design enables the maximum torque to be delivered from the valve seat at closed position.
The first 5 degrees of break out movement is crucial to an efficient disc separation from the seat and the 5 degree asymmetric operation maximises its efficiency.
The extremely high torque output also results in smaller envelope dimensions for no loss in torque output.
The asymmetric torque curve of the G Series range adheres to the stringent requirements of the Tomoe butterfly valve, where the maximum torque is required, at the seat break in and break out positions.
Making the G series ideal for butterfly valves and providing the most efficient actuation valve range.
On a torque for torque comparison the G Series actuator uses 30% lower air consumption than its rack and pinion equivalent.
The G series actuator range meets the latest ATEX requirements and is produced in an ISO9001:2000 factory.
The G Series Scotch Yoke design also delivers an hysteresis figure of 1 to 2% compared with a typical 3% figure for rack and pinion models.
This combined with the G Series valve positioners having an hysterisis figure of 0.6%, produces a valve actuator package that is ideally suited to many control valve applications.
The G Series actuator range is supported by a full range of ancillaries including switch boxes, valve positioners, control stations, solenoid valves, travel stops, manual overrides and a low temperature (-50C) specification.
Common problems such as O-rings sticking and rolling when used as piston seals are eliminated with the G Series, because the piston seals are PTFE and have an internal cylinder surface finish which provides an ultralow friction factor between the cylinder and the pistons.
There are 15 double acting models and 15 spring return models; this extensive range means that DN40-DN600 butterfly valves can be actuated with the G Series actuator range.
