Using the latest Vision VE5000 remote data gathering units and the multi-user VSys management software BT Cellnet are able to receive alarms and remotely manage their base stations in real time.

The Vision systems are able to manage all the support services found at remote sites including DC power systems, Battery back-up, Air-conditioning, Entry control, Security, Generators and general digital, analogue and serial based alarms.

The Vision range of remote monitoring and management systems includes a number of remote access methods including PSTN, GSM, X25, ISDN and IP.

The site condition is presented as a graphical real time picture via the VSys management software which can have multiple clients.

The Vision solution is sized from single site applications to in excess of 10,000 remote sites.

* Texcel Technology has also received additional orders from their new distributor Newtech in Hong Kong.

The initial installation of Vision remote monitoring systems was completed last year for I-Link the international internet provider for their new network services building.

Following the success of that installation orders have been received from Newtech for VE5000 remote monitoring units and BCM100 battery condition monitors.

The application is the battery cell monitoring of UPS units installed in remote areas.

The BCM100 units will monitor a number of series connected batteries generating upto 500 volts DC and report via the VE5000 any cell failures back to VSys the network management system.

Newtech are expecting substantial savings in the on-going support costs for these UPS units now that repeated on site battery testing is no longer required.
