Smaller wave springs for even tighter
spaces
TFC have introduced a new range of smaller sized Smalley Crest-to-Crest Wave springs to cater for an even greater range of uses, including limited radial and axial space applications.

Snap Rings complement Spiral Retaining Rings
TFC have recently introduced a new snap ring series to compliment their well-established Smalley Spiral Retaining Ring Series.
For more specialised applications, the springs can be specified in AISI 316, high temperature corrosion resistant Inconel X-750, A-286, Elgiloy, non-magnetic beryllium copper of phosphor bronze.
Like their larger counterparts, the new smaller size crest-to-crest wave springs develop similar forces to conventional round wire springs while occupying a third or less of the same space.
This means that not only can the springs be used in tight axial space conditions, but thanks to their high performance they will also maintain the same deflection and load specifications of conventional springs.
Compact in design, durable, with a long fatigue life and dimensional uniformity, the new small size springs are manufactured from a continuous coil of single filament pre-tempered, round-edged flat wire, drawn into a precisely dimensioned finished product.
The end result of this process is a circumferential flow of metal grain within the spring which gives it a superior quality and performance and delivers accuracy, predictability, dependability and resistance to pitting, scratching, cracking and other imperfections.
This 'Circular Grain Process' also offers unrivalled production flexibility and with no tooling costs, even for prototype of custom configurations, new smaller size Crest-to-Crest Wave Springs are ideal choice for small volume proving requirements.
Available direct from stock at TFC, typical uses include applications requiring low to medium spring rates or large deflections with low to medium forces.
Because the springs are integrally formed, eliminating the need to keep the wave crests aligned, the wave peaks hold their configuration without needing to use a key-locating device or insert a shim between individual springs. Request a free brochure from TFC ...
