Fastening specialist TFC has supplied several fasteners to automotive engineering services provider Bertrandt UK, to be used in its Soapbox racer for this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Bertrandt, which finished 4th in the roadster class in last year's competition, is one of the world's leading engineering service providers for the automotive industry and will be looking to improve on last year's success at Goodwood this coming June.

TFC has supplied a selection of durable socket cap screws and hex nuts for the 2004 project that will be used throughout the chassis, including the steering column, roll cage, seat and harness mountings and aero-plates.

The Soapboxes race down the Goodwood course in pairs at speeds over 100km/h and collisions are not an uncommon occurrence.

This, together with the considerable stress put on the racers as they negotiate each corner, demands great durability from all of the components.

TFC Technical Director Brian Goode commented: "Some of the brightest minds in motor sport design are involved in the development of these cars and we are proud to be associated with one of the leading competitors".
