Flatwire springs save space headaches

Spirawave springs deliver equal deflection compared with conventional coil springs but typically consume 50% less space.

Fastening specialist,TFC is using an innovative mailer in the style of an aspirin blister pack to promote its range of Smalley Spirawave flatwire springs with the strap-line: "Do you suffer from compression depression?" Aimed at design engineers that are having trouble specifying a suitable spring for compression applications, each pack contains a sample of two flatwire springs with a leaflet explaining the benefits of the Spirawave range

Spirawave springs deliver equal deflection compared with conventional coil springs but typically consume 50% less space, providing an effective solution to compression applications where radial or axial spaces are tight.

TFC has over 1000 standard Spirawave springs in stock, all of which can be easily found using the component finding facility on the new TFC website.

For truly novel applications, custom designs can be satisfied quickly without tooling.

"We wanted to use an approach to promoting the Spirawave range that would reflect the unique and innovative nature of the product", commented Brian Goode, Technical Director at TFC.

"By offering flexible and cost effective solutions we hope to rid our clients of any headaches they might have in designing a compression application". Request a free brochure from TFC ...
