TFC recently solved a problem for Grandeye, the leading innovator in solid state intelligent 360-degree CCTV cameras.

Grandeye partners OEM manufacturers with state-of-the-art camera product solutions for commercial security and military applications.

When Grandeye needed a spring for the focusing mechanism of its Halocam 360-degree security camera it turned to TFC, because of its unrivalled reputation for delivering innovative solutions to applications requiring the use of high quality fixings.

The company's ability to source and provide solutions for a wide range of manufacturing applications is renowned within Europe.

Brian Goode, Technical Director of TFC, explained Grandeye's requirements.

"Grandeye wanted a spring which collapsed down to a very shallow height, to fit into an existing product with minimal design changes".

"Our Smalley Preload spring was integral to the design of the focus mechanism".

The spring is positioned within the focus mechanism to preload the components and eliminate tolerance build up caused by a screw thread.

This dramatically reduced installation time while improving the setup procedure for the camera.

TFC's decision to use a Preload spring solved Grandeye's design issues.

Michael Kirsch, Vice President of Industrial Design from Grandeye, commented on TFC's prompt response.

"We needed our initial batch of Halocam's ready for the market quickly, and TFC came up with a solution that worked perfectly and met our timeframe".
