Retaining rings and flat wave springs detailed

A TFC Europe product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 6, 2006

TFC has just released its first ever dedicated catalogue for Smalley Retaining Rings and Flat Wire Springs

TFC has just released its first ever dedicated Smalley catalogue.

The catalogue contains details of the extensive Smalley range of 'off- the-shelf' Retaining Rings and Flat Wave Springs.

The full colour A4 listing has over 70 pages of products that have the capability to solve most retention and pre-load problems, no matter how unusual or demanding the application.

Brian Goode, Technical Director for TFC explained TFC's strategy behind the new catalogue.

"Our Smalley products continually meet the increasing demands of manufacturing and industry".

"We felt that the sheer diversity of this product for providing solutions to industry warranted a bespoke catalogue for our customers".

"We now provide a single publication to help customers source the Smalley product they need." Smalley Retaining Rings and Flat Wire Springs provide an effective solution to applications where radial or axial spaces are limited.

Manufacturing of the springs is conducted using an edge-winding process, known as the 'no tooling- cost process'.

Using this method not only gives the products strength and stability far superior to that of conventional retaining rings and wave washers stamped through the metal grain but also offers total flexibility to amend specifications without the incurring cost penalties associated with tooled products.

Consequently, as well as the high-volume supply of off-the-shelf products, TFC advises customers of the most appropriate components for specific applications and offers a bespoke design service if the correct Smalley product cannot be found in the new catalogue.
