TransMagic has launched the R4 versions of its stand-alone 3D CAD translation software products, TransMagic and TransMagic Plus.

TransMagic has launched the R4 versions of its stand-alone 3D CAD translation software products, TransMagic and TransMagic Plus.

In addition to file translation improvements, R4 now reads assemblies for all supported CAD types including Catia V4, Catia V5, Unigraphics and Pro/Engineer.

Other highlights include automatic repair for Iges files, a new assembly browser, expanded help documentation, more efficient application architecture and better memory management.

TransMagic R4 builds on previous features and functions through a new graphics foundation that allows for the addition of many new visualization options and tools.

New features include enhanced large model visualization, a dynamic section-cutting tool, new tool bars and annotation options.

"Our mission is to develop products that offer significant productivity gains to engineers, designers, mould and tool makers and any manufacturing industry professional who needs to view and exchange files between customers, vendors or even departments", stated Todd Reade, President and CEO, TransMagic.

TransMagic R4 features the following new functionality: support for UG assembly files; support for Catia V5 assembly files; new Pro/Engineer file 'read' options; improved memory management; automatic gap analysis; and automatic Iges healing.

TransMagic's affordable products provide a unique combination of 3D CAD translation and geometry repair, along with viewing and collaboration tools.

TransMagic supports most major MCAD and neutral file formats including Catia V4 and V5, Unigraphics, Pro/Engineer, SAT (ACIS), Parasolid, Step, Iges and HSF.

TransMagic offers innovative ways for clients to collaborate and view 3D files over the Internet and models can also be emailed as 3D HTML documents so they can be viewed in any Internet browser.
