Pump contract is ongoing business
The Archimedes screw is one of the simplest, yet most efficient and reliable methods of moving large volumes of water and slurry over short distances.
Deritend has been formally awarded a framework agreement for the supply and maintenance of Archimedes type screw pumps for Severn Trent Water in the UK.
The Archimedes screw is one of the simplest, yet most efficient and reliable methods of moving large volumes of water and slurry over short distances.
Used predominantly on sewage treatment works, they do have a fixed service life and Severn Trent Water had to source an expert supplier to provide essential service and maintenance duties.
Jamie Wesley, Operations Manager at Deritend Ashby branch: "We are extremely pleased to have won this contract".
"It represents significant supply and repair business for us, but also reinforces our reputation as a market leading maintenance supplier to the utilities sector".
"The contract also sees us partner with a specialist manufacturer exclusively in the UK, Landustrie based in the Netherlands delivers a very high quality screw pump product and will be adding their expertise to ours".
"We are looking forward to working with the excellent engineering team there".
The contract covers maintenance, refurbishment, supply of spare parts, and provision of new equipment across various locations within the Severn Trent area.
This stretches from the Humber estuary to the Bristol Channel and from Mid-Wales to East-Midlands.
Deritend is listed on the Achilles supplier database and the company's 24h repair and fabrication service, added to proven experience with all the major UK water companies, is thought to have heavily influenced the deal.
Deritend adds this contract to two existing Severn Trent Water framework agreements, including general M and E maintenance services worth over GBP 1 million per year, covering all aspects of on site contracting together with supply and repair of electric motors.
Deritend engineering services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week hence the team is also on-hand to deal with breakdown situations quickly.
There are 14 branches and engineering workshops across the UK and 280 plus employees.
Teams of Deritend engineers are also currently working as permanent on-site personnel on customer sites throughout the UK and Europe.
