THK UK is continuing to add to its range of next generation LM Guides featuring Caged Ball technology with the launch of a line of compact and lightweight SRS guides.

SRS-type LM Guides are an ideal choice for locations where space is restricted as they have a low cross-section height to the rail, also benefiting from a compact body with a single row of balls, as well as two rolling surfaces.

In addition to their compact design, the guides offer the advantages of being lightweight - the low-inertia bearing is made of insertion-moulded resin - and versatile - each row of balls is arranged so the guide can bear load in all four directions, and can consequently be used for a wide range of applications in any position.

Caged Ball technology offers a number of advantages over conventional linear motion guides.

These benefits stem from the equal spacing of the balls and the retention of the lubricating grease between the balls in the block, and include high-speed, high-precision, smooth linear movement; reduced noise output; minimal variations in rolling resistance and long-term, maintenance-free operation.

As the bearing is constructed of stainless steel, it is also better protected against corrosion.

The new SRS guides are available in two sizes, SRS 20 and the larger SRS 25, and are provided with pre-fitted end seals as well as side seals.

Rail lengths range from 220mm to 1800mm in single lengths, longer lengths can be created by butt jointing.

Optional additions to protect the guides in harsh working environments include grease nipples and C caps for LM rail mounting holes.
