THK UK is launching a new range of extra wide SHW guides, adding to the company's range of next generation LM Guides featuring Caged Ball technology.

With an extra wide carriage, a low centre of gravity and high rigidity, SHW-type LM Guides are an ideal choice for locations where space is restricted, and rigidity under Mc moment load is required.

SHW also offers versatility: as each row of balls is arranged at a 45deg angle to the guide rail, the guide gives equal capacity in all four directions, and can consequently be used for a wide range of applications in any position.

Caged Ball technology offers a number of advantages over conventional linear motion guides.

These benefits stem from the equal spacing of the balls and the retention of the lubricating grease between the balls in the block, and include high speed, high precision, smooth linear movement; reduced noise output; minimal variations in rolling resistance and long term, maintenance free operation.

The new SHW guides are available in two types, SHW-CA, which can be mounted from above or below, and compact SHW-CR, installed using holes tapped in the upper side.

Single rail lengths range from 130mm to 3000mm.

Optional additions to the guides include end, side, inner and double seals, metal scrapers, grease nipples and protective bellows, and butt jointing of longer rail requirements.
