Courses help brush up IT skills
December sees the start of a series of courses by the Technology Innovation Centre (TIC) in Birmingham, to help everyone advance their IT skills.
One is for quality professionals wanting to expand their knowledge of the six sigma approach to manufacturing processes.
The alternative seminar addresses the increasingly important environmental aspects of quality.
The advanced seminar for quality experts "Six sigma for design" explores 3D tolerance simulation as the way to make quality integral to manufacturing processes.
The latest computer software created by the tic's world-leading partner and US specialist, Dimensional Control Solutions will be featured.
Delegates will also be introduced to the new tic "Six sigma for design" innovation network, run in partnership with Accelerate.
This offers a collaborative learning forum for organisations through sharing common issues relating to quality and design.
The alternative seminar looks at the importance of quality and the role that it plays within our environment in today's society.
It will be given by Dr Margaret Rooney, an environmental quality guru from the Environment Agency and Fellow of the Institute of Quality Assurance.
The seminar will examine how companies can use their quality management systems to manage their exposure to environmental risk within the manufacturing sector.
Both these tic seminars begin at 1715 BST and there is a buffet from 1645.
