They also offer higher torque-to-envelope ratios than parallel-shaft spur gearhead designs.
The new gearhead concept, which is called The Equalizer, utilizes a gearing system in which planet gears dynamically adjust their radial position between the mating sun gear and internal gears through a pivoting link.
The loads are evenly distributed through all three planet gears, which mesh smoothly to deliver reduced noise, vibration, and cyclic loading of the gear teeth.
The Equalizer is offered in four frame sizes (40, 60, 90 and 115 mm) with three front face mounting options (NEMA, metric, and C-Face).
The front face options provide easy drop-in replacement for parallel-shaft spur gearheads and other similar reducers.
The gearbox mounts in less than five minutes using the company's RediMount motor mounting system.
Pricing is approximately 25 percent less than comparable fixed planet models and parallel-shaft spur designs.
