Brushless DC motors deliver constant speed

New from Thomson Airpax Mechatronics, the TAM58-2E Industrial Series is a family of brushless DC motors, that combines 9-slot stator and 12-pole rotor construction design to deliver constant speed in a compact package.
These motors include a brushless DC motor and integrated electronic controller encased in a single, small, robust package.
The TAM58-2E Industrial Series consists of three standard motor lengths for maximum power output: 98mm long with output power of 47W; 107mm long with output power of 60W; and 112mm long with output power of 90W.
Totally enclosed in an all-aluminium case, the TAM58-2E Industrial Series motors conform to IP44 construction as well as Nema Size 23 mounting standards.
Because they work well in damp, dusty and harsh environments and are designed with maintenance-free ball bearings for long life and high reliability, they are ideal for use in industrial applications, eg automated conveyor systems, barcode labelling, printing, pumps, valves, machine tools and agricultural equipment.
Rated torque for the TAM58-2E Industrial Series ranges from 157mNm at 2895rev/min to 295mNm at 2975rev/min, and weight ranges from 770 to 953g.
All motors feature a patented 5V square wave output tachometer that delivers 45pulse/rev as low as 100rev/min without distortion.
Motor speeds can be controlled precisely from 100rev/min up to no load speed.
A single 24V DC power supply controls the motor and onboard electronics.
A separate built-in 5V DC 90mA power supply is available to drive the user's external electronics circuitry, when precise closed loop or a single potentiometer operation is required.
Safety features include peak current limiting to protect electronic circuitry, an electronic fuse to protect the electronics and motor from excessive overloads, and below speed shutdown to allow the motor to be shut off if speed falls below improper range.
