The Series H56S is a new high-torque 56mm hybrid step motor from Thomson Airpax Mechatronics.

The Series H56S is a new high-torque 56mm hybrid step motor from Thomson Airpax Mechatronics Improved performance and competitive pricing make this motor ideal for providing greater torque in 56mm (Nema 23) motor applications, and for replacing 57mm hybrid motors with a smaller-profile step motor

The 1.8-degree step motors - measuring 56mm square - are available in four motor lengths: 41, 50, 54, and 76mm.

These high-efficiency motors come in both unipolar and bipolar versions, have a holding torque range of between 343 and 1471mNm, and weigh between 420 and 1000g.

They feature a +/-5% per step, step angle accuracy, and maximum temperature rise of 80C.

This combination of high torque and small footprint makes the Series H56S ideal for applications requiring high output power in a compact package.

These include office automation/computer peripherals (printers); robotics, and factory automation.

Consistent with Thomson Airpax Mechatronics' focus on satisfying customer needs, the Series H56S was designed for an automated assembly friendly to modification.

Flexibility exists in accommodating different lead terminations and shaft modifications to fit most applications.

Other specifications are: current ratings between 0.38 and 3.00A; resistance per winding between 0.8 and 32ohm; dielectric withstanding voltage of 500V AC for 1min; inductance per winding between 1 and 38mH; rotor moment of inertia between 135 and 460gcm2; and detent torque between 220 and 700gcm.
