Thomson Micron has added 90 and 115mm sizes to its UltraTrue line of true planetary gearheads.

Thomson Micron has added 90 and 115mm sizes to its UltraTrue line of true planetary gearheads Available in both inline and right angle models, these ultra precise, ultra smooth gearheads are ideal for applications such as material handling, packaging, coil winding, pipe bending, machine tools, overhead gantry systems, and injection molding machines

The UltraTrue planetary gearheads from Thomson Micron have two important features: a standard 4arc-min backlash and crowned helical carburised steel gears that are hardened to HRC 60 minimum and flank-finished after heat treating.

High strength and exceptional torsional rigidity are the result of machining both the output housing and the helical internal gear from a single piece of high strength steel.

Helical crowned planet gears make for the smoothest, whisper-quiet operation available in a planetary gearhead.

The UltraTrue 90 and 115 gearheads offer ratios from 1:1 to 100:1.

Peak torque for the 90mm inline is 1800in-lb; for the 90mm right angle, it is 1700in-lb; for the 115mm inline, it is 5300in-lb; for the 115mm right angle, it is 5000in-lb.

Peak radial load for the 90mm inline and right angle is 1500lb; for the 115mm inline and right angle, it is 2500lb.

The UltraTrue gearhead line is RediMount compliant, which permits mounting to any motor.

The front face options provide easy drop-in replacement for competitive gearheads, parallel-shaft spur gearheads and other similar reducers.

The gearbox mounts in less than 5min.
