As a result of increased demand for miniaturisation within high-tech industries such as semiconductor, optics and instrumentation, Thomson Industries has launched a new range of miniature ballscrews Using internal ball-return technology, they provide high efficiency (typically 95%) and repeatability, precise positioning, and smooth, reliable motion
The standard diameter starts at 4mm, with 1mm lead, and will include 6 and 8mm diameters as well.
Manufactured as both rolled and ground units, they also will be available in a range of precision classes - from ISO3 to ISO7 (0.012/300 to 0.050/300mm).
The units have nylon wipers as standard to protect them from the ingress of contamination and can be supplied with ends machined complete to customers' specifications.
