The Thomson TN Series of rugged and reliable precision linear actuators are an alternative to hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders and are available with three motor types to meet a variety of application requirements.

The TN-D actuator features a cost effective 24V DC motor.

When combined with a Superior Electric DC control unit, the complete system provides simple extend-retract motion, positioning to predetermined stopping locations or positioning to an analogue voltage command.

The TN-S/P actuator features a stepper motor and is ideal for applications that require high load and duty cycle, in-position holding, open loop operation, and repeatable positioning to 0.0127mm.

It provides maintenance-free operation.

Compatible Superior Electric stepper drives complete the system.

The TN-B actuator features a brushless servomotor and offers very high acceleration and duty cycle for the most demanding automated motion applications.

Its accompanying Superior Electric servo drive is designed to optimise the performance of the servomotor.

Easy to install and program, the Thomson TN Series of precision actuators is available in standard stroke lengths up to 457.2mm with dynamic load capacities up to 224kg.

Operation is conducive in temperatures ranging from 0 to 60C, but options can expand the range to -29 to +71C.

All TN Series actuators are available with time-proven operations to enhance operation in the industrial environment.

Options include holding brakes, encoders or linear potentiometers for position feedback, dual rod end bearings to increase side load, protective boots and more.

Because of the inherent rugged capabilities of the Thomson TN actuators, they can be used to replace traditional hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.

The electric TN actuators are less costly, more compact, and much cleaner than hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders.
