Conference aims to inspire innovators
Conference brings together speakers to give practical advice on how UK manufacturers can use innovation and advanced manufacturing techniques to compete against the low cost economies of the Far East.

Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
The event at Bolton's Reebok Stadium on Thursday, 18th May, is being staged free of charge to all north west manufacturing companies by the Manufacturing Institute, which delivers the DTI's Manufacturing Advisory Service in the region.
Among the speakers are manufacturing leaders from companies such as Flowcrete and Jaguar Land Rover, alongside experts from Cambridge University, the TUC and the Northwest Regional Development Agency.
"There will around 450 to 500 manufacturers attending the event, each of them eager to share the latest knowledge for improving their own productivity," said Julie Madigan, Chief Executive of the Manufacturing Institute.
"Their ability to be innovative in the way they design, produce and deliver products to customers is essential to the region's survival as a manufacturing base".
"The conference will inspire managers to rise to the tough personal challenges they face - and guide them along the right path".
The conference will close on an inspirational note, with a talk by round the world yachtsman Pete Goss on the power of motivation and teamwork to meet any challenge.
