The JAOtech Smart Terminals are supplied as a one-piece unit, with all of the electronics and a touch screen contained in a single case sealed to IP65 at the front and IP54 at the back.

Trident has added a new range of Smart Terminals using anti-bacterial plastics and suiting hospital wards, catering, industrial applications and other environments where high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are a requirement.

JAOtech Smart Terminals from Trident have been designed to meet the medical UL60601 standard, ensuring that they can be thoroughly cleaned with standard detergents used in medical, catering and other environments without damage.

The terminal plastics feature a Novaron silver-based inorganic antimicrobial agent that provides superior antimicrobial performance.

It has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is employed in numerous antimicrobial processed products both in Japan and overseas.

JAOtech has tested its hardware for exposure to popular cleaning agents such as alcohol, methylene chloride, methyl ethyl ketone and acetone.

Trident is offering JAOtech Smart Terminals in three different screen sizes: 15in Zivo, the 15.4in widescreen Jima and the Obie 17in Smart Terminal.

All are offered in a wide range of colours and plastics and can be customised to meet the needs of each installation, by, for example, reflecting the branding of the customer in the case presentation.

All terminals are available with a full package of optional peripherals including a VoIP phone, magstripe/smart card readers, a high-resolution camera, biometrics, a barcode scanner and a wireless keyboard.
