Deal for risk-based integrity management
in China
Tischuk International has strengthened its global presence by signing a major technology contract with Sinopec, China's biggest oil producer.
Tischuk International, which describes itself as 'the world's leading risk-based integrity management specialist', has strengthened its global presence by signing a major technology contract with Sinopec, China's biggest oil producer The Aberdeen-based company has agreed with Sinopec to jointly develop an enhanced Chinese language version of Tischuk's world renowned risk-based inspection technology
The contract has a potential value to Tischuk of £3million in Sinopec's internal market and more than £10million in the overall Chinese market.
Tischuk's technology allows oil producers and operators of major process plants to calculate how best to maintain equipment for effective performance.
The software creates accurate inspection and maintenance plans based on an assessment of the risks associated with each plant item.
As a result, safety is enhanced and downtime is reduced.
As an update to its product suite, Tischuk also is incorporating the Oracle high-integrity database to its software package.
Oracle is compatible with information and maintenance management systems such as SAP and Maximo.
The technology transfer agreement marks Tischuk's entry into the Chinese market and is expected to have a significant impact on the business.
As a result, it is anticipated that the company's workforce in Aberdeen will double to 20 over the next two years.
Sinopec is one of the world's largest oil companies with more than 300 installations including 78 refineries and petrochemicals plants and a significant number of oil and gas fields.
As a licence holder for Tischuk's tools, Sinopec will target China's other leading oil and gas companies, with a major spin-off for Tischuk from future deals.
Mu Shanjun, deputy director of Sinopec's Safety Engineering Institute, says: "We chose Tischuk International after conducting strenuous trials.
"The company impressed us with its focus on risk-based integrity, and its staff have a strong background in the oil and gas industry.
"Tischuk also has an open and flexible policy with the ability to adapt its RBI tools to suit each asset.
"That was a major factor in our decision".
Tischuk International technical director, John Tischuk, says: "We already have a strong presence in many of the key international oil and gas locations with our world-leading technology, but this contract gives us a foothold in the rapidly expanding and exciting Chinese market.
"Sinopec is one of the world's largest oil companies and this agreement will open up other opportunities in China.
"The joint venture between Tischuk and Sinopec will target all Chinese national energy companies and joint venture companies alike for potential uptake of the new technology".
Tischuk International is claimed to be the world's leading risk-based integrity management specialist.
