Time Compression Technologies event
grows
Continued growth of the TCT Conference and Exhibition has led to its relocation to the Cardiff International Arena for this year's event, which takes place on 10th-11th October 2000.
Continued growth of the TCT Conference and Exhibition has led to its relocation to the Cardiff International Arena for this year's event, which takes place on 10th-11th October The new, larger venue demonstrates the increasingly important role played by Time Compression Technologies in enabling manufacturers to maintain their edge in today's highly competitive markets
Research by organisations such as the Gartner group indicates that the ability to minimise time-to-market by streamlining product development cycles is the single most important factor affecting the long-term prospects of companies operating in this sector.
"At the first TCT event in 1996, the primary focus was on rapid prototyping and rapid tooling," says Philip Hanson, Principal Consultant at IBM.
"Today, we find the focus equally on the concepts of digital mock up and the virtual product." By providing an excellent forum for sharing experience and best practice - particularly throughout the supply chain - the TCT Conference has become the premier event for participants to discuss and promote both the benefits and advances being made in the field of rapid product development.
This success has also been reflected in attendances, which topped 60 exhibiting companies and 500 paying delegates in 1999.
"From the interest seen to date, we're confident that the number of exhibitors will exceed the 100 mark this year," says exhibition director, Helen Cattell.
"We also expect to attract more than 2000 visitors to the free exhibition running alongside the conference.
It means we have simply outgrown our previous venue at the East Midlands Conference Centre." "Cardiff International Arena is an ideal location for TCT 2000.
It is modern, easily accessible by road and is only two hours from London by train.
There are also fast and direct rail services running frequently from Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Exeter, Newcastle and the south coast.
Cardiff International Airport serves many European capitals including Paris, Edinburgh, Dublin, Brussels and Amsterdam and lies just 20 minutes away from the city centre," she adds.
"What's more, the facilities at the new CIA are excellent; enabling the conference and exhibition to take place under one roof.
Delegates and visitors will therefore have a one-stop shop where they can not only learn about the latest products and technologies, but also locate suppliers and primary service providers quickly and easily." Further information on TCT 2000 - which is supported by the DTI and leading trade bodies including the IMechE, GTMA, IED and RPMA - can be obtained by contacting Time Compression Technologies on: 0207 924 5655 or by accessing the TCT 2000 Website.
About the TCT Conference and Exhibition First organised by the publishers of Time Compression Technologies magazine in 1996, the TCT exhibition and conference has established itself as the UK's principal showcase for the development of technologies targeting fast track product design and manufacture.
Implementation of TCT processes enables users to maximise the effectiveness of their product development resources to achieve the key competitive advantages of reduced costs and accelerated time-to-market.
The growing importance of TCT techniques to companies of all sizes within the manufacturing sector has resulted in a consistent increase in exhibitor and delegate attendance figures - and the creation of a more ambitious programme - at each subsequent year's TCT event.
