The TCT 2006 team has formed a new and active Steering Committee for the event that takes place in September later this year.

The TCT 2006 team has formed a new and active Steering Committee for the event that takes place in September later this year.

Following on from the relocation and reintroduction of the renowned TCT Conference, which this year will focus on rapid manufacturing, the committee has been assembled to ensure the content of the conference is compelling and that time spent at the event and away from the office is as valuable and effective as possible.

Mark Blezard, Joint Managing Director of Rapid News Publications comments: "It is vital that we listen to the needs and direction of industry, TCT has a reputation for delivering great content in its programmes and this committee will enable us to tap into some of the best brains in the business and develop the event accordingly".

Will Schoenmakers of PA Consulting will open the event with the keynote address, on Tuesday 19th September.

A hugely experienced RP and M specialist Schoenmakers is now responsible for the consumer products area within PA Consulting's Product and Process Engineering Practice.

He is therefore uniquely placed to open the discussion and debate in terms of the technology available and the business cases behind adopting them.

The full committee is as follows (individual biographies are available on the event website): Richard Bibb, University of Wales Institute, Cardiff; Tim Plunkett, Plunkett Associates; Wil Schoenmakers, PA Consulting Group; Jeremy Pullin, Renishaw; Martin Alan Roberts, New Transducers (NXT); Neil Hopkinson, PhD, Loughborough University; Malcolm Platt, General Dynamics; Graham Tromans, Rapid Manufacturing Consortium; Bill O'Neill, Cambridge University Institute for Manufacturing; and Chris Sutcliffe, University of Liverpool.
