Exhibition to feature more than 100 RPD suppliers
The TCT 2007 Exhibition will feature more than 100 suppliers from the world of rapid product development.
The TCT 2007 Exhibition, being held from the 26th to the 27th September at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, will feature more than 100 suppliers from the world of rapid product development (RPD), including all the leading rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing machine manufacturers under one roof for the only time in the UK this year.
Also exhibiting will be leading players from the scanning and digitising, CAD/CAM software, rapid tooling and materials sectors, who will showcase their latest offerings presenting an opportunity to appraise all of the latest technologies on the market.
Service providers from all the sectors will also be on hand to demonstrate the most effective and up to date ways of using the technologies available in 2007.
The move to the Ricoh Arena gives TCT the space to expand into a purpose-built exhibition hall, where it can house all exhibitors and many more event features in a single location.
Huntsman Advanced Materials and EOS are, as in 2006, the headline sponsors.
Companies exhibiting alongside the headline sponsors that have already confirmed their presence at TCT 2007 include: Z-Corporation, Delcam, Ambler Technologies, Metris UK, Innov8es, CRDM, 3D Systems, Laserlines/Stratasys and 3D Scanners.
A new feature for exhibition visitors in 2007 is the introduction of two free of charge seminar sessions, which will take place on both days of the show and will be held within a purpose-built seminar theatre in the main exhibition hall.
The morning session, organised and promoted in conjunction with the RPMA and West Midlands Technology Network, is designed to give newcomers to rapid technologies the opportunity to get up to speed as fast as possible and to be aware of how they can best access them.
The first of the mornings presentations Rapid Fundamentals presented by Graham Tromans from the RPMA and Loughborough University will give an hour-long overview of all of the rapid technologies available including SLA, SLS, FDM, concept modelling and additive metals systems, outlining what benefits they can bring to businesses adopting them.
The second of the morning presentations, Technology Transfer, will given by Clive Percival of the West Midlands Technology Network and the University of Wolverhampton, and will focus on technology transfer between higher education institutions and small-to-medium sized businesses.
Percival will demonstrate how the WMTN partners have worked with many companies to introduce new products, processes and technologies.
The afternoon session held in the theatre will be promoted as the Rapid Machining Forum - Techniques for rapid manufacturing.
This forum will promote how it is possible to manufacture parts directly using advanced CAM software and milling techniques.
Organised in association with the GTMA, content for this session will be driven by leading users and writers of CAM software technology, demonstrating what is possible now with real examples of end-use parts machined directly from the raw material.
The Rapid Machining Forum provides a platform for these companies to demonstrate their competiveness with RPandM additive techniques.
During each afternoon of TCT, five rapid machining papers will be presented by various exhibiting companies, and will be chaired by the GTMA.
The TCT Conference and Exhibition is the most important event on the 2007 calendar for design and manufacturing professionals in the UK and is the only UK event focused on providing solutions for accelerating products to market.
