The Crosby JCE safety relief valve provides a cost-effective solution for process systems requiring full overpressure protection.

The Crosby JCE safety relief valve provides a cost-effective solution for process systems requiring full overpressure protection Suitable for gas, vapour, steam or liquid applications, the versatile JCE safety relief valve (SRV) is the first Crosby-branded commodity SRV

It can be used across a wide spectrum of industries, including chemical, pulp and paper, food, textile, utility, oil and gas processing as well as package boiler and domestic power OEMs.

The JCE offers a large flow capacity from a smaller enveloped design while the valve design incorporates a freely pivoting disk, ensuring correct alignment with the nozzle.

The combination of top guiding, unobstructed seat bore and full lift capability ensures the highest possible discharge rate for maximum plant protection.

The Crosby JCE is available in both conventional spring loaded and balanced bellows designs, and can also incorporate a special disc style to ensure trouble free performance in liquid applications.

The "conventional" arrangement is suitable for applications where the built up pressure will not exceed 10% of set pressure.

It can also be used in systems where the superimposed backpressure is at a constant level (up to 80%).

The "balanced bellows" configuration is intended for applications where several SRVs discharge into a common discharge manifold, or for any circumstances where a variable back pressure can occur, up to a maximum of 40%.

All configurations of the JCE are available with a comprehensive range of options, to further tailor the valve to a specific application.

These include an open type easing gear for steam or compressed air applications and liquid service where a small escape of the process fluid to atmosphere is acceptable during discharge; and a packed easing gear for circumstances where fluids cannot be allowed to escape to atmosphere.

The JCE can also be fitted with a test gag, to prevent the valve from opening when carrying out hydrostatic tests of the protected system.

Standard construction materials are cast carbon steel or stainless steel in EN/ASME designations.

The standard construction employs metal-to-metal seats, with elastomeric seals if required.

Valve sizes from DN 25 to DN 100 (1 to 4in), with DIN PN16 or PN40 flanges as standard (ANSI and BS10 also available).

The range of JCE SRVs has been certified to the requirements of PED 97/23/EC.

The JCE is also approved to worldwide certifications such as BS6759 parts 1, 2 and 3 by SAFED; AD Merkblatt (TUV approval); ASME Code Section VIII (National Board Approval) with "NB/UV" stamp; Stoomwezen rules A1301; UDT Poland; Chinese SQL and Australian standard AS1271.

Crosby JCE safety relief valves are available from the Tyco Valves and Controls sales and distribution network.
