Flow sensors monitor oil consumption

Titan Enterprises' Metra-Flow OG4 flowmeters are monitoring the oil consumption of diesel generators used for powering oil pipeline pumping stations in Nigeria.

Diesel fuel flow measurement systems from Titan Enterprises have been adopted as standard equipment for monitoring the oil consumption of diesel generators used for powering oil pipeline pumping stations and other remote oil industry facilities in Nigeria Over 85 systems have been installed using Titan Metra-Flow OG4 flowmeters in both the flow and return lines, and a battery powered Metra-Smart display to show the nett oil flow consumed by the generator

The Metra-Flow OG4 oval gear flowmeter is ideal for accurate monitoring of fuel oil flows.

It provides flow measurement accuracy better than 0.5% over the standard flow range of 0.25 to 50 litres a minute on 30 centiStoke oil, using 19.05mm connections.

The OG4 meters supplied have had stainless steel bodies and PEEK internal rotating gears.

In each installation, a single Metra-Smart electronics module accepts the pulse inputs from both meters, and enables a digital display of the flow rate, and the totalised flow, in gallons on an eight-digit totaliser, computed by monitoring the difference between the two flow meter signals.

Use of the single Metra-Smart electronics module provides an economical stand-alone monitoring system.

Electronic outputs are also available that can provide flowrate information for remote transmission or local data recording. Request a free brochure from Titan Enterprises ...
