System acquires data from 16 force sensors
New from Tekscan is the intriguingly named Multi-Handle ELF (economical load and force) data acquisition system.
The Grip system measures and evaluates static and dynamic pressures during various ergonomic or haptic activities such as vibration studies, product design improvements and analysis of grip forces for tools or sporting equipment.
The system provides detailed pressure profiles, forces and graphical displays for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Due to the nature of grip measurements, portability is a must.
With its new USB connection, the Grip system can now be used with any desktop or laptop computer and no longer requires a PCI card slot or Magma card adapter box.
The new connection technology also assures that dynamic events will be completely captured.
It can scan at up to 850Hz with 1ms resolution, as compared to 127Hz with the previous PCI electronics.
The system's tactile, high-resolution sensor has also been redesigned to include larger sensing regions that can be individually positioned over important sections of the fingers and palm.
