The Crompton Electric Motors brand from Tyco Electronics provides sophisticated, bespoke AC motor solutions, as well as standard products.
Specialising in the smaller end of the AC motor market, offering products that range in diameter from 100 to 160mm, Crompton Electric Motors address a wide range of commercial and light industrial applications.
The products benefit from over 60 years AC motor design experience and are currently used in sectors such as business machines, food processing, pumps and compressors.
Crompton Electric Motors is backed by a strong application engineering capability and also supported by state of the art CAD and production equipment.
Approximately 600,000 small powered AC induction motors are manufactured per annum, in volumes ranging from 10 to 60,000.
Around 96% of these motors are nonstandard designs which have been application-engineered to suit individual customers' product needs.
Products can be customised to suit individual requirements with respect to factors such as enclosure shape and appearance, mounting configuration, shaft form and performance characteristics.
Different body form variants can be produced to meet a range of requirements with respect to aesthetic appearance.
These include rolled steel shell, bareback, extruded and double-insulated motors.
The design capability provides a wide range of enclosure options, including open, ventilated, drip-proof and totally enclosed motors.
Connection configurations include: loose-leads, cable and terminal board/box terminations.
