Teseo system helps expand turbo production

Essex Turbo has installed Teseo's modular aluminium airlines system to distribute compressed air throughout its new premises.
The company has also incorporated Teseo equipment into its own turbo testing Flow Rig design, which has resulted in an increase in business.
'We aim to be the fastest, most reliable, premier quality turbo suppliers in the industry,' said Mick Ireland, Essex Turbo's managing director.
'We moved to new premises in 2008 to allow us to incorporate the latest technology and needed a precision solution for our compressed air delivery.
'Previously, we used plastic tube systems that were prone to fracturing and we didn't feel it gave us the flexibility to extend and alter the system.
'We spoke to Teseo UK's parent company, Chelmer Pneumatics, who supplied our compressor, and they suggested the Teseo aluminium pipework and hollow bar system,' he added.
Teseo spent two days fitting the pipeline using around 80m in the process and Essex Turbo located and fitted its own drops to suit the layout of its machines.
'The Teseo system allows us to connect drops without losing pressure in the system and it's a very easy process,' said Ireland.
'We currently have 20 or so drops running to a variety of machines.
'Since we've been on Teseo, there have been no problems,' he added.
Ireland has also used the Teseo product in the design of the company's turbo testing Flow Rig machine.
'Using the swept corner sections and a number of straight sections, the Essex Turbo Flow Rig tests the air flow through each turbo that the company reconditions, allowing technicians to calibrate the variable vanes in the turbo accurately,' said Ireland.
'The test unit has opened up a range of turbos that we previously did not work with and gives us a unique precision monitoring system,' he added.
As well as producing turbo units, Essex Turbo develops and tests new turbo components and has developed a range of large turbo conversions for a range of Japanese vehicles.
Essex Turbo supplies remanufactured turbochargers for all major car manufacturers and caters for all popular manufacturers' models.
All Essex Turbo's exchange turbocharger stock is manufactured in-house by the company's technicians and distributed via its sales team.
Teseo's hollow bar system (HBS) and aluminium profile (AP) products feature aluminium extruded piping that has an external rectangular section with tee slots and a fine, smooth internal bore.
A wide selection of angle and straight joints and quick clamping pieces make this system flexible in layout and quick to install.
Teseo lines are also said to be energy efficient due to the high flow rates of a smooth profiled aluminium tube (typically 30 per cent higher than steel), which equates to a low pressure drop and overall energy and cost savings compared to traditional galvanised systems.
