The Compax3 is an intelligent servo drive designed with a modular structure enabling it to be readily adapted to suit many applications.

Manufactured by Parker Hannifin and distributed by Total Motion Systems (TMS), numerous functions are offered as variants of the basic version including: step/direction or +/-10V analogue command input (basic version); programmable motion control via IEC61131-3; positioning; electronic cam generation; rotary table control; and multi-axis synchronisation.

The Compax3 is available in six sizes with continuous current ratings from 2.5 to 30.0A and peak ratings of double these.

Depending on the rating selected the units operate direct from single-phase 110/230V or three-phase 400/480V.

Compax3 is compliant with UL and CSA standards, and with motor cables of up to 10m long no external filtering is required.

A large range of accessories, such as operator panels is available with the Compax3 and the drives can be used with both rotary and linear servomotors.

The Parker SMH and SH ranges of rotary servomotors are designed to give optimum performance and minimum setup time with the Compax3 range, and dedicated PC software eases programming and setup procedures.
