High-power motors offer quiet operation

A Total Motion Systems product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 3, 2008

Total Motion Systems' (TMS) DC stepping motors cover holding torques from 0.25 to 15.0Nm and the largest motors can deliver up to 1kW of shaft power.

Total Motion Systems (TMS) manufactures motion control equipment for the industrial market.

Its CE marked industrial DC stepping motors were originally manufactured by Stebon and are available in three frame sizes covering industry standard sizes 23, 34 and 42.

The 200 step/rev motors are designed to give optimum power output with two-phase bipolar drives.

The range covers holding torques from 0.25 to 15.0Nm and the largest motors can deliver up to 1kW of shaft power.

TMS stepper motors have an improved permanent magnet rotor design to increase high-speed performance.

They are designed to reduce audible noise and have a high-efficiency electrical design which allows increased duty ratings.

The high-temperature insulation system also makes them suited for use with direct on line high-voltage drives.

TMS also manufactures geared stepper motors, brake motors for fail-safe handling and encoder motors for use in datum positioning, position tracking and encoder following applications.

TMS can also manufacture custom designs to meet specific customer requirements.

These designs can include such items as oil seals, special shafts and flange mounts, as well as connectors and custom lead arrangements.

Motors can also be modified for use in vacuum and radiation environments.

Outside of its own range, TMS can also source and supply stepper motors down to size 11 as well as lead screw and linear actuator motors enabling a full range of applications to be accommodated.

To complement its stepper motor offering, TMS also distributes stepper drives, servo drives and motors, controllers, rotary and linear slides and tables and operator panels enabling us to offer a single source solution to motion control applications.
