Producing busbar systems which connect easily and conveniently to air circuit breakers (ACBs) supplied by any of the major manufacturers is now straightforward, following the introduction of an extended range of busbar supports by Ter-mate.

Between them, Ter-mate's proven MX and Master Plus ranges now offer supports with phase centres of 70, 90, 110, 115 and 130mm, matching the connection spacing of ACBs from ABB, Schneider Electric, Siemens and many other suppliers.

All sizes of support are available in three- and four-pole versions, and all are intended for use with 10mm thick copper busbars.

The design of both MX and Master Plus busbar supports has been proven by exhaustive testing in accredited laboratories.

They are, therefore, ideally suited for use in the construction of assemblies with fault ratings, depending on the size of the support, up to 80kA.

These busbar supports are manufactured from high-grade UL94V0 approved material which conforms to the 960C glow-wire test, as required by Amendment 1 (2004) of BS EN60439-1:1999.

All manufacturing is carried out in Ter-mate's own ISO9001-approved moulding plant in Nottingham, UK, which ensures total control over product quality and consistency.

The new products are complemented by an extensive range of accessories, which includes insulation and joint covers, spacers, mounting brackets and fixing kits.

Designs have also been tested with these supports incorporated within Master Frame arrangements, further enhancing the benefits of a fully type-tested product with the full backing of the ASTA Diamond Mark.
