Passing busbar connections through enclosure walls while retaining IP2X ingress protection or better is easy with the new B4-30 connector bushings.

Passing busbar connections through enclosure walls while retaining IP2X ingress protection or better is easy with the new B4-30 connector bushings from electrical power expert, Ter-mate The bushings satisfy a real and current market requirement for a convenient and inexpensive solution for making connections to circuit breakers, as well as for insulators for use in the fabrication of Form 3 and Form 4 switchboards in line with the requirements of BS EN60439-1 and IEC60439-1

Moulded in the UK from high-grade black thermoplastic material with a V0 fire rating, the new bushings feature an innovative design which allows this one product to accommodate four different sizes of busbar - 20 x 3, 20 x 4, 30 x 5 and 30 x 10mm.

This not only means that users have to stock just one size of bushing for all common applications, it also means that the same bushings can be used for all busbars in equipment where either half- or double-rated neutral conductors are fitted.

When correctly installed, the bushings automatically provide IP2X ingress protection and, for applications where higher IP ratings are needed, Ter-mate offers an optional insulating boot.

Manufactured from flexible black UL94V0 flame-retardant PVC, this can be readily cut to suit the user's requirements, and is particularly useful when making cable connections to busbars.

A leaflet, giving full details of Ter-mate's versatile B4-30 connection bushings and accessory insulating boots, together with examples of applications for these products, is now available.
