With the new consultancy service from Ter-mate, it's now much easier for end users to comply with the requirements of BS EN60439-1.

With the new consultancy service from Ter-mate, it's now much easier for end users and suppliers of switchboards and controlgear assemblies to achieve right-first-time solutions which fully comply with the requirements of BS EN60439-1.

Ter-mate's cost-effective new service draws on the wealth of experience that the company has accumulated in more than 40 years of designing and testing busbars and associated equipment, as well as its half century of experience in supplying high-specification equipment to the most demanding end users, including the Ministry of Defence, London Underground and major companies in the petrochemical and shipping sectors.

"Today's end users, consultants and suppliers of switchgear and controlgear have to be involved in so many different aspects of a project that it's virtually impossible for them to develop in-depth know-how and keep up to date in every specialist area", said Rob Swann, Operations Director of Ter-mate.

"Our new service", he continued: "is designed to help overcome this problem by providing its users, at modest cost, with specialist input based on our own wide-ranging expertise in the switchgear and termination fields".

Ter-mate's consultancy services cover every project stage, including the assessment of specifications to reveal potential technical flaws, reviews of manufacturers' documentation, preparation of design and installation drawings, and even visiting site to inspect and certify installations as compliant with tested designs.

Another major element of the service is test consultancy, which can support companies through all stages of the type-testing process, with particular emphasis on short-circuit and temperature-rise testing.
